Please take a moment to review La Costeña’s official travel policies. This page outlines important information about ticketing, cancellations, passenger responsibilities, liability, and other key terms that apply when you book and fly with us. Understanding these conditions helps ensure a smooth and informed travel experience.

• Tickets will be issued in the name of a specific person. Tickets are NOT transferable, endorsable, or refundable.
• Changes and Cancellations: Tickets are non-refundable, except for certain exceptions. You can change your ticket free of charge within the first 24 hours. Changes made more than 10 days in advance incur a penalty. Changes made less than 7 days but more than 72 hours before the flight incur a higher penalty. No changes or cancellations are allowed within 72 hours of the flight.

(Exceptions: contagious illness (with medical certificate), hospitalization, or death of an immediate family member. For these exceptions, a 45% administrative fee will apply, provided the required documents are presented.)

• The airline will verify passenger identity. Nicaraguans and residents can use their national ID or passport; minors need a valid official document. Foreigners must present their passport. You must use the same identification used when booking and purchasing the ticket.
• The airline may cancel or postpone the trip without responsibility for delays, cancellations, or changes due to force majeure, emergencies, bad weather, or other reasons for the safety or interests of the company. It does not guarantee transport on the specified day or flight in the ticket.
• La Costeña also reserves the right to deny boarding to passengers in abnormal conditions according to INAC regulations.
• Each passenger can take hand luggage and checked luggage according to their ticket. Additional luggage will be subject to availability and costs. The airline may refuse luggage that does not meet weight, size, or safety regulations. All luggage may be sent on another flight if weight and balance conditions require it.
• For infants (children under 2 years old), they will pay 10% of the fare plus other charges, will not be entitled to a seat or luggage, and must be held in the accompanying adult’s arms.
• In case of loss or damage to checked luggage, La Costeña will provide compensation according to Law 595, the General Civil Aviation Law.
• La Costeña is not responsible for loss of jewelery, watches, computer equipment or damage to personal items or cash.
• In case of death or injury due to an accident, La Costeña will provide compensation according to Law 595, the General Civil Aviation Law.
• Passengers must check in at least 1 hour before departure.
