La Costeña will only accept dogs and cats, the fee for bringing pets is $30 per route. The pet must be placed under the front passenger seat inside its kennel, The pets weight must not exceed 8 kg.
Guide dogs/emotional support dogs can travel in the cabin with a maximum weight of 20 kg. They must sit next to their owner by the window, wearing their harness or leash.
Acceptance Conditions:
The pet must comply with health regulations required by law.
The guide dog/emotional support dog must meet health regulations required by law through the appropriate certificate that accredits it as a guide or emotional support dog.
The passenger with their pet or guide/emotional support dog cannot sit in the emergency exit rows.
IMPORTANT:
Guide dogs must bring a harness or leash.
Pets weighing more than 8 kg will have to pay excess fee of $2.60 USD per pound and will be placed in the cargo area in their Kennel. (this area is also pressurized and within the same cabin area).
If the Guide Dog/Emotional Support Dog weights more then 20kgs he will need to be placed in the cargo area in his Kennel. (this area is also pressurized and within the same cabin area).
If the pet or emotional guide dog does not have their own kennel, you may request the use of the airline’s kennel, which costs $80 USD. Otherwise, the pet or guide/emotional support animal will not be able to travel.
There is a limit of 2 animals per Flight.
