General Information

1. Are tickets transferable or refundable?

  • Tickets are issued in the name of a specific person and are not transferable, endorsable, or refundable.

2. Can I make changes to my ticket?

  • You can change your ticket free of charge within the first 24 hours of purchase.
  • Changes made more than 10 days before the flight incur a penalty.
  • Changes made less than 7 days but more than 72 hours before the flight incur a higher penalty.
  • No changes or cancellations are allowed within 72 hours of the flight.

3. Are there any exceptions to the non-refundable policy?

  • Yes, exceptions include contagious illness (with a medical certificate), hospitalization, or death of an immediate family member. For these cases, a 45% administrative fee will apply, provided the required documents are presented.

4. What identification do I need to present?

  • Nicaraguans and residents can use their national ID or passport.
  • Minors need a valid official document.
  • Foreigners must present their passports.
  • You must use the same identification used when booking and purchasing the ticket.

5. Can the airline cancel or postpone my trip?

  • Yes, the airline may cancel or postpone the trip without responsibility for delays, cancellations, or changes due to force majeure, emergencies, bad weather, or other reasons for the safety or interests of the company. Transport is not guaranteed on the specified day or flight in the ticket.

6. What if I am in an abnormal condition according to INAC regulations?

  • La Costeña reserves the right to deny boarding to passengers in abnormal conditions according to INAC regulations.

7. What is included in my baggage allowance?

  • Each passenger can carry hand luggage and checked luggage according to their ticket.
  • Additional luggage will be subject to availability and costs.
  • The airline may refuse luggage that does not meet weight, size, or safety regulations.

8. What about infants?

  • Infants (children under 2 years old) will pay 10% of the fare plus other charges.
  • They will not be entitled to a seat or luggage and must be held in the accompanying adult’s arms.

9. What if my checked luggage is lost or damaged?

  • In case of loss or damage to checked luggage, La Costeña will provide compensation according to Law 595, the General Civil Aviation Law.

10. What items is La Costeña not responsible for?

  • La Costeña is not responsible for loss of jewelry, watches, computer equipment, or damage to personal items or cash.

11. What if there is death or injury due to an accident?

  • In case of death or injury due to an accident, La Costeña will provide compensation according to Law 595, the General Civil Aviation Law.

12. When should I check in for my flight?

  • Passengers must check in at least 1 hour before departure.
